I was born in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne and I am a proud to be a Geordie.

I have 2 boys, sadly my youngest died aged 30. I have taken, and others have taken his ashes around the world ... especially to places where the Beatles were, namely Liverpool, Abbey Road and New York as my son did not go in his lifetime and adored the band. My eldest son Lee is married to Joanne and lives in Cumbria and they have given me the most gorgeous grandpuppy ever!

I am a retired teacher, having taught in Tyne and Wear primary schools for over 20 years. Funeral celebrancy found me as a career. After speaking at several funerals, celebrants kept saying I should do this work - so I trained and here I am on a different career path but using many of my teaching skills. It is such a rewarding career to support people at such sad times in their lives and an absolute honour to be chosen by families.

When not working, I can be found with wellies on at the allotment attempting to grow vegetables. It's great exercise and its an amazing social hub; other allotmenteers are so generous with their produce and knowledge.

I like all kinds of music; depends on the mood but I prefer rock. I would love to go to Glastonbury but I think I would need a caravan as I like my home comforts too much. I love to read - I prefer to read romantic historicals; I love how good authors can transport you in time with words and you can learn many historical facts. The first historical romance I read was 'Katherine' by Anya Seton - I have kept this book and have re-read it several times as I enjoy it so much. The last book I read was 'The Greatest Knight' by Elizabeth Chadwick was an absolutely fascinating read and should be made into a film (in my opinion). I love history and can often be found in old churches and buildings.

Pet hate ... I hate waste ... reduce ... reuse ... recycle. I love green ... I live in a green house! What keeps me grounded .... humour ... lots of it!

Thank you for taking your time to read this.
